In mid-August, I wrote about seeing my first Western Pondhawk (Erythemis collocata) on Bodega Head. (I took a distant photo of a female on 15 August 2015.) A few weeks later, I returned to the same spot and photographed this male. What amazing eyes!

It'll be interesting to see if the sightings this year (including at least one ovipositing female) result in emerging individuals at this wetland next year.
