Great photo! Was this pup sleeping at Bodega Head? I was under the perhaps erronous impression that the only place along the coast near here to find Northern Elephant Seals was at the colony at Chimney Rock.

Hi, Dan,

Thanks for the comment and question. Once the juvenile elephant seals start wandering from the colonies, they show up in various places. I've seen them on Bodega Bay area beaches, but it seems pretty unpredictable -- sometimes you just get lucky!
