Pink Moon

The full moon in April is sometimes called the Pink Moon, a reference to a wildflower (Moss Pink, or Wild Ground Phlox) that blooms at this time of year.  Photographed on 29 April 2018.

Last night's full moon snuck up on me, me who used to care so much about the night sky. It was arrestingly beautiful when I caught it by chance when closing the curtains for the night. I left the curtains open so I could watch it from the bed.

PS: I'll visit again but am not sure I'll comment. Google is so proprietary they make it quite difficult for me to come over from WP to comment.

Hi, dunelight!

Thanks for writing! Sometimes it's even more fun to be surprised by the moon.
