Platystemon means flat stamen and your photograph shows clearly why it has this name. Beautiful!
Yes! After taking this photo, I looked up the meaning of Platystemon and discovered the reference to the flattened stamens. I hadn't paid attention to that characteristic until then. It makes you wonder what the benefit is to having a flattened stamen?
