Coast Onion

 

Wild Onion or Coast Onion (Allium dichlamydeum)

These photographs were taken near Dillon Beach, but this late-flowering native perennial (it's flowering now) also grows on Bodega Head.  Coast Onion is a California endemic and prefers dry soils adjacent to sea cliffs.  Look for it near rock outcrops in the coastal prairie.
