Color matching

 

Another local that demonstrates excellent color matching with its background, a Northern Alligator Lizard (Elgaria coerulea).

    That's interesting how well it matches its background. We spotted a Northern Alligator Lizard in the mixed evergreen forest that was colored much differently, mostly matching its environment. Teresa got a couple photos here -
