Love these photos! Although admittedly I haven't been actively looking for them, I haven't noticed a Loggerhead Shrike in Sonoma County. Approximately where was this?
These photos are from Tolay Lake Regional Park. Loggerhead Shrikes are uncommon in Sonoma County, but they can show up during winter, especially in open habitats with short vegetation. (I have seen one in Bodega Bay in the past, along the Coastal Prairie Trail -- see link below) Unfortunately, Loggerhead Shrike populations have declined (across the country), so they're harder to find here now.
