It's some sort of purple Salvia. When I bought it at the nursery, some bees were visiting the flowers and they wouldn't leave the flowers, even as I was walking with the plant! Seemed like that was a good sign...and it has been terrific for hummingbirds and bees and butterflies. (I wish I could remember the variety, but I seem to have lost the name.)
