Flock of eight

A distant picture, but a photo for the record: Tundra Swans (Cygnus columbianus) at a flooded field along Roblar Road in Petaluma on 21 January 2016.  It appeared that at least two of them were immature birds.

If you're interested, here are some older pictures of Tundra Swans from Doran Beach on 22 January 2013 and 21 November 2013.

For the record, it's likely that I also saw tundra swans, just about a year ago, in a similar field, between Bridgehaven and the mouth of the Russian River. (Also for the record...Gratitude for your blog is thriving north of Bodega Head at Salt Point and Fort Ross! And this is my first blog comment- swans!)

Hi, Hank!

Great to hear from you! Glad to hear the blog is starting to circulate in the Salt Point/Fort Ross area. And it's excellent to record another possible Tundra Swan sighting in a different location.

:) Jackie
