I find taking wave photos very challenging, but also a little addictive. You're always hoping for an image that works, and of course the waves just keep coming, and every wave is different, so you have quite a few opportunities. I find that I take lots of wave photos that don't work out, but every now and then the timing and lighting come together and you capture something that seems to represent the conditions at that moment.
