Sunshine on a cloudy day
A quick shot of another backyard visitor — Townsend's Warbler (Setophaga townsendi), in Cotati, 2 January 2021.
A great shot of a fairly uncommon bird here in Ukiah. A Townsend's was my 'best' (and super brief) observation on the Christmas Bird Count this past December.
Nice that you spotted one on the CBC! I missed Townsend's Warbler on the Western Sonoma County CBC, which is unusual (to have missed it). They're not necessarily common on Bodega Head during the winter, but they're around.
