Whew, we had a long week of field work during the good low tides this past week. On the side, Eric managed to photograph this beautiful sculpin. It looked just like the surrounding stones!

It looks like a Tidepool Sculpin Oligocottus maculosus to me.
Thanks, David! I started wondering about Smoothhead Sculpin (Artedius lateralis).
I would really love to find someone who could help with all of the intertidal sculpin identifications!
